ROCHESTER, NY – The Columbus Clippers took game four of their series against the Rochester Red Wings, 7-5, to capture the series 3-1 on Monday night.

The game marks the last time the Clippers and Red Wings will face-off in the 2013 season.

Clippers’ left-handed pitcher T.J. House picked up a quality start and his first win of the season (1-2) after struggling over his past two outings for Columbus. House pitched seven innings giving up only three earned runs and striking out seven batters.

The Clippers opened the scoring with an RBI-sacrifice fly by center fielder Matt Lawson in top of the second, but the lead would quickly be erased by back-to-back scoring innings for the Red Wings in the bottom of the third and the fourth. The Red Wings took the 2-1 lead.

The lead did not last long for the Red Wings however.

Clippers’ catcher Omir Santos tied the game 2-2 with a single to right field scoring shortstop Juan Diaz—but Santos wasn’t done yet.

In the top half of the sixth, after a wild pitch by Red Wings righty Shairon Martis scored Jeremy Hermida, Santos knocked a single to center to score second baseman Matt Lawson and Diaz after both were walked by Martis, giving the Clippers a 5-2 lead.

Heading into the bottom of the ninth the Clippers had a secure lead 7-3 after the club added two more runs in the seventh on an RBI double by Matt Carson and in the eighth inning on an RBI single by Ryan Rohlinger—but received a scare from the bats of the Red Wings.

After two walks by Clippers’ closer Preston Guilmet, Red Wings pinch-hitter Brian Dinkelman hit an RBI-single to right field scoring two. Guilmet eventually picked up the save after a nice snag by Diaz to end the game 7-5.

The Clippers will travel to Syracuse to take on the Chiefs Tuesday at 7:00 pm.
