The Indians have announced today that right-handed pitcher Mitch Talbot has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a lower back strain retroactive to July 9th. They have recalled outfielder Ezequiel Carrera from Triple-A Columbus and he will be with the team in Baltimore tomorrow.

Right-handed pitcher Jeanmar Gomez will get the start on Sunday, and will be activated prior to the game, which will likely involve Carrera being sent back down. There is no word yet on who will make the spot start on Monday for one of the two games in the doubleheader with the Twins in Minnesota, but right-handed pitcher Zach McAllister is expected to get the nod.
