The Indians have activated outfielder LeVon Washington from extended spring training and assigned him to Low-A Lake County.  He was the Indians' 2nd round pick in last year's draft and was expected to open the season at Lake County, but some hip and leg injuries from the offseason and spring training sidelined him.  He is expected to make his Captains debut tonight at Classic Park in Eastlake, Ohio for the final game of their homestand.  Game time is 7:00 PM.  With arrival of Washington, the hot-hitting Jason Smit was promoted to High-A Kinston.

Also, the New York Yankees have claimed right-handed reliever Jess Todd who had been designated for assignment last Saturday.  The Indians removed him from the roster to create a spot on the 40-man for right-handed pitcher Alex White.
