LOUISVILLE, Ky. – With two outs and two on in the top of the second, Carlos Moncrief doubled on a grounder that rolled to the right field corner, bringing Audy Ciriaco home for the Columbus Clippers’ only run of the game.

That run proved to be three short of pushing their opponent for the ball game.

The Clippers collected the loss for the second night in a row, falling to the Louisville Bats 4-1.

Columbus' starter Travis Banwart pitched three perfect innings with no hits before imploding in the fourth.

After getting two outs and putting runners on first and second Banwart gave up a frozen rope out to right field bringing home the tying run for the Bats.

Another one was sent Moncrief's way out to right field, the triple cleared the bases putting Louisville up 3-1.

Bottom of the fifth and Banwart continued to pitch, when Manager Chris Tremie was tossed from the game by first base umpire Nick Lentz.

After his fifth walk of the night Banwart was replaced by Austin Adams who closed down the fifth with a double play.

Father 1.2 innings of work allowing two hits Adams was pulled from the game in favor of righty J.C. Ramirez.

With one out Ramirez gave up a bomb to center field to further Louisville's lead 4-1.

Ramirez pitched clear through the eighth walking two, with one strikeout, and two hits.

The Clippers unlucky two game stint in Louisville dropped them clear to the bottom of he International League West standings with Louisville continuing at the second seat. Columbus' carries a 26-31 record as their road trip continues to Gwinnett for a four game series.
