Tribe acquires Veras from Yankees

The Indians have announced they have acquired RHP Jose Veras from the Yankees for cash considerations. Veras is expected to join the Tribe later this week, most likely on Friday when the Indians return to Cleveland to face the Reds. It is unclear who the Indians will move from the active roster to make room for Veras. This year, the 28-year old Veras made 25 appearances with the Yankees, going 3-1 with a 5.96 ERA. He walked 14 and struck out 18 in 25 2/3 innings of work.
