The Cleveland Indians season may be wrapping up, but as always, the season never comes to a close here at the IBI. The offseason is one of our busiest times of the year covering the big league and minor league happenings with Hot Stove activity, roster decisions, the Rule 5 Draft, prospect rankings and so much more.

Over the coming weeks we will have several end of season articles up on the site. The popular IBI Awards will kick off on Monday October 6th and will be presented by Jim Piascik, and of course the annual Tony Awards will be unveiled starting later this week or after the IBI Awards. Several Q&A’s with Indians coaches, front office conversational pieces, offseason fall/winter league articles, offseason op-e pieces and much more will also post.

With that in mind, the IBI is looking to add some new writers to a strong core of established writers on the site. If you are a passionate, strong writer who loves baseball and want to join an excellent staff and have your work be seen by thousands, then this is the place for you.

If you are a journalism student looking for experience and looking to establish credibility, then the IBI is a perfect fit for you. The IBI has provided internships for writing, editing, photography and more which has served as a launching off point to many for another opportunity. Several former interns have expressed their thanks to the IBI for being a big help in them landing a newspaper/online writing opportunity with a mainstream media outlet.

If you are a blogger who wants to spread your wings and gain a larger audience and more credibility, then the IBI is perfect for you. There are few places that offer as much exposure to so many fans as well as the credibility in the industry as a top outlet for fans to read opinions, follow all the news and developments, and gain strong insights into so many areas of the team. Several previous writers have used their time at the IBI as a stepping stone to their own ambitions with writing.

Even those who have done video and photography work in the past have used their experience with the IBI to move on to different, exciting projects. Some have started taking photos for, some are doing baseball card work and some are doing some TV editing work.

There are no commitments. Write as often as you like. All we ask is that you bring a passion that shows in your writing, a strong baseball acumen and a willingness to grow. Whether you want to write opinion, analysis or feature pieces about the Cleveland Indians, or you want to dive into advanced metrics and break down players, or you want to give a fantasy baseball spin on things, or just write about Major League Baseball in general, or you want to focus on the minor leagues…..there is a fit at the IBI for any style.

If you are interested in joining the team please contact us using this form. Our email is not provided in this post for spam purposes, but note that the contact form will send an email right into our email inbox. Thanks!

Extremely passionate about the game, especially the Indians. Love discussing both major and minor leagues. Would love to be able to contribute in whatever capacity I can given my limited free time. Could contribute more once graduate education is complete.
