I had a chance to talk to High-A Kinston third baseman for a future feature piece during my visit to Kinston last week, so be on the lookout for that soon. But that's not why I rang. Braves rally to beat Clippers 2-1
The Clippers couldn't hold a ninth inning lead and dropped a third straight to Gwinnett 2-1 on Monday night. The starter pitching was solid for both teams for the second straight night as Clippers lefty Chuck Lofgren and Braves southpaw John Halama exchanged scoreless innings until the sixth.

Braves edge Clippers 4-2 in extra innings
The Gwinnett Braves toppled the Clippers 4-2 in ten innings on Sunday at Huntington Park. Clippers starter Hector Rondon and Braves starter James Parr settled into a pitcher's duel until the fifth inning. The Braves broke the deadlock when Alvin Colina walked and Clint Sammons knocked a two-run homer to put the Braves up 2-0.

The Gwinnett Braves scored ten times in two innings in a 15-4 rout of the Clippers at Huntington Park.
