Columbus Report: Carrera is next in line
Ezequiel Carrera (Photo: Lianna Holub)This technically is the second part of Minor Happenings that I mentioned yesterday would post today. On-Deck with the Captains: The Rain Soaked Edition (Week 6)
Northeast Ohio has seen A LOT of rain over the course of the last week. Quite frankly, I am sick of wondering if my street is going to flood with every falling rain drop (at one point, the street flooded three days in a row). That being said, the Captains were rained out three times and played a double header Thursday night (one of the rainouts was made up).
Record: 18-20

The Indians designated right-handed pitcher Justin Germano for assignment today and recalled infielder Luis Valbuena from Triple-A Columbus. The K-Tribe Chronicle: The Kinston offense is just plain offensive
(Photo: Kinston Indians)From the Reservation:
Kinston did about what I expected them to do after their season best week in week four. They followed it up with their worst week, going 1-5, and tumbling further down the standings.
If I seem a little discombobulated about it, it's because I am. This is the same pattern this team took last year, before righting the ship later in the season...

Note of disclosure: The topic for this column was thought up before Monday night’s 19-run offensive explosion in Kansas City.
The basic premise was to question what needed to be done offensively by the club to maintain the lead the Indians had built in the American League Central Division. It was a question particularly pressing considering...
