Second Thoughts: Game #97: Tigers 2, Indians 3
Ubaldo Jimenez came up big in one of the most important games of the year for the Indians last night, and the offense gave him and the bullpen just enough to "squeeze" out a 3-2 win over the first place Tigers. It was a much needed win to start off an all important three-game series against the rival Tigers, and Charlie Adams provides his second thoughts on the game.

Six errors stir trouble for AZL Indians in loss
The AZL Indians looked the part of a rookie league squad last night as they committed six errors in the field and went 0-for-5 with RISP on the evening in a 9-2 loss to the AZL Cubs. Leaving six runners on base and striking out ten times on the night were part of the problem.

Around the Farm: July 24, 2012
Zeke Carrera is just killing it in Columbus, and like last year, may be the best player there right now. Juan Diaz is playing his best baseball of the season, and perhaps even of his entire career. Preston Guilmet is the iceman, and clearly doesn't let implosions effect him longer than about a minute. At the top of the heap is a guy that's used to leading the "pack." I know, find out who it is...after the jump...

Scrapper offense delivers in 9-3 win over Crosscutters
The Scrappers racked up 17 hits en route to a 9-3-blowout victory over the Williamsport Crosscutters Tuesday night. The offensive output was probably the result of some frustration for an offense that has had some struggles as of late. In their three prior games, the offense had only managed nine runs on 17 hits, exactly their output Tuesday.

Clippers Walk Their Way To Victory Over Mud Hens 7-4
Huntington Park is known around the International League as a field that favors hitters. On Tuesday night against the Toledo Mud Hens, though, the Clippers needed only to walk to get a win. Columbus (55-49) began its nine-game homestand with a 7-4 victory against Toledo on Tuesday at Huntington Park.

Launching Off With The Aeros: 7/17/12 - 7/23/12
The Indians may be fading of late, but your Akron Aeros continued their winning ways over the past week taking five of the seven games they played. Akron continued to get great pitching from the likes of House, Armstrong, Packer, and co. while the bats rallied behind Neal, Abraham, Lawson, and others. As always, Jim Piascik takes you through the week that was with Launching Off With The Aeros.

Matt Packer ready to resume promising career
Matt Packer burst onto the Indians' scene with a stellar 2010 season that saw him go 9-7 with a sterling 2.05 ERA in both Lake County and Akron. He followed that season by skipping the Carolina League and heading right to the Aeros. He started off slowly (3-8, 5.71 ERA at the break), but finished strong (6-4, 2.78 after the break). Now recovered from a shoulder that cost him the first half of the season, Packer is back, and more than ready...

Second Thoughts-Game #96-Indians 3, Orioles 1
At the start of play on Monday, the Indians were 4 ½ games behind the idle division-leading Detroit Tigers. Reeling from losses in seven of their last nine, the Indians were desperate for an ace-like performance from Justin Masterson to avoid a four-game sweep at home against the Orioles. Luckily, he came through and the Tribe found a way to win a crucial game.

Lake County falls in close game against Cedar Rapids
The Lake County Captains fell to the Cedar Rapids Kernals 2-1 on Monday, despite a six-inning no-hit bid by starter Shawn Morimando. Morimando, a 5’11” lefty, took the bump for the Captains against Cedar Rapids lefty Eswarlin Jimenez, and was the hard-luck loser in Monday afternoon's ballgame.

Around the Farm: July 23, 2012
Tim Fedroff continues to make a play to make it to the big leagues. He's done everything except steal Johnny Damon's jersey and 5 o'clock shadow. Matt Pagnozzi blasted two home runs on the night, showing off a bit of that family pedigree. The headliner continues to show up skills that should get him at least to Triple A. Find out who, after the jump...

Sailing with the Clippers: 7/16/2012 - 7/22/2012
The Clippers have back-to-back National Championships to defend, so it shouldn't be a surprise that the Clip-Show is saving their best for the second half. The Clippers won six of the seven games they played in the week, and closed things out with a four-game win streak. Can the Clippers defend their title? Only time will tell, but if the past week is any indication, they could be well on their way. Join Andrew Holleran as he goes Sailing with the Clippers...
