Around The Farm: January 24, 2013
The winter ball season continued to wind its way to an end Thursday night, with fewer and fewer Cleveland players still participating in the games. Luckily for you, the reader, there is still plenty to write about, like Ezequiel Carrera in Venezuela and Quincy Latimore and company in Australia. Indians invite five players from minors to Major League camp
Today the Cleveland Indians announced that they have extended non-roster invitations to Major League spring training camp to first baseman Jesus Aguilar, right-handed pitcher Matt Langwell, right-handed pitcher Preston Guilmet, catcher Roberto Perez, and left-handed pitcher Giovanni Soto.

Ezequiel Carrera was the only Indian in action on Wednesday, though the left-handed hitter was competing in an important game as it was game one of the VWL Championship Series. Aeros announce ballpark improvements, new HD scoreboard
The Akron Aeros celebrated an Eastern League Championship win last fall, and with a new season on the loom, they’re looking to win over fans with some ballpark improvements. One is the installation of a new state-of-the-art HD video scoreboard. Stephanie Metzger shares the details.

Tribe Fest triumphs in inaugural year
Large crowds descended upon Progressive Field this past week for the inaugural Tribe Fest, and it turned out to be a rousing success. Tribe Happenings: Thome, Ramirez reunion might work
What a great Indians weekend as the widely popular Tribe Fest was jam packed on Saturday and is expected to have big crowds again today. On the news front, it was a slow week for the Indians other than a few players being named to World Baseball Classic rosters and several arbitration eligible players having their 2013 contracts finalized. Indians set to sign utility player Ryan Raburn
Several sources are reporting that the Indians will sign IF/OF Ryan Raburn to a minor league contract with an invite to join the big league club in spring training.
