Cooper efficient in return to rotation as Aeros win 4-3
The Akron Aeros extending their winning streak to five games Saturday night, defeating the Portland Sea Dogs 4-3 at Canal Park. The win moves the team to 31-31 on the year as the Aeros got back to .500 for the first time since May 13. Akron starting pitcher Jordan Cooper -- who had not started a game since May 21 -- pitched effectively, holding the Sea Dogs to one hit and no runs in six innings.

McAllister put on DL, Carrasco recalled for Saturday start
The Cleveland Indians placed right-hander Zach McAllister on the 15-day DL with a right middle finger sprain and recalled right-hander Carlos Carrasco from Triple-A Columbus Saturday. McAllister's injury was first reported earlier in the week and's Jordan Bastian tweets that this is not the same situation as when Adam Miller and Alex White saw their careers derailed. Calling up Carrasco now and starting him today will allow him to pitch while appealing his suspension for throwing at New York Yankees third baseman Kevin Youkilis in his first and only major league start in 2013 on April 9.

Second Thoughts Game #60: Indians 5, Tigers 7
After arguably his best start in an Indians uniform last weekend, Ubaldo Jimenez pitched his way to an early exit on Friday night against the Tigers in a 7-5 loss. Nick Swisher had his worst game as an Indian with a few misplays in the field and is in a funk at the plate. The Indians have now lost five straight and 13 of their last 17. Times are tough right now, and Jake gives his second thoughts on another Indians loss.

Moldenhauer powers Crushers to 6-5 win
Russell Moldenhauer powered Lake Erie with two opposite field home runs and four RBIs as the Crushers earned back-to-back wins with a 6-5 win over Washington (Pennsylvania) on Friday to get back on track.

Captains blow late lead, fall 7-4
SOUTH BEND, IN- The South Bend Silver Hawks (42-17) used a four-run eighth inning to take a late 7-4 lead to sweep the Lake County Captains (20-38) on Friday night. Lake County has now lost four straight.

Mudhens shutout Clippers 6-0
TOLEDO- The Columbus Clippers fell 6-0 to the Toldeo Mudhens at Fifth Third Field Friday en route to a third straight loss. This was the sixth time this season Columbus has fallen victim to a shutout.

Aeros earn dominant 12-3 win
AKRON- The cloudy skies throughout the day could not prevent the Akron Aeros from blasting off on Friday night. Thanks to a big third inning, and an even bigger seventh, the Aeros secured their fourth straight victory with a win against the Portland SeaDogs by a final score of 12-3.
