Around the Farm: December 21, 2013
The winter ball season is starting to wrap up. Most of the teams will take a small break this week for Christmas and then finish their regular season next weekend and then those that qualify for the playoffs will move on while the rest will go home for the winter. Carlos Santana and Jesus Aguilar look to be on playoff bound teams, but whether or not they play in the playoffs remains to be seen. In any case, both were in action on Saturday, and both impressed once again.

Asdrubal Cabrera, plate discipline, and bouncing back

Indians announce 2014 Player Development staff assignments
The Cleveland Indians today announced the organizational staff alignment within the Player Development System for the upcoming season. Chris Tremie remains as manager in Columbus while Dave Wallace moves up to Akron and Scooter Tucker moves to Carolina. Edwin Rodriguez has moved into a special assistant role and the Indians also welcomed in several new coaches.

Tribe Madness: Progressive Field Region semi-final results
The IBI Tribe Madness tournament pitting the 128 greatest Indians players of all time against one another in an NCAA basketball-like tournament continues with the results from the matchups in the semi-final round of the Progressive Field Region. With two matchups involving four players, two will move into the Region Finals and two will go home. The region features Ray Chapman against Sudden Sam McDowell and Bobby Avila versus Shoeless Joe Jackson in the two matchups.

It was a slow night in winter ball as only two Indians players were in action on Wednesday night. However, the two of them provided enough action to be excited about. First of all, Jesus Aguilar extended his current hit streak to eight games with a pair of knocks in Venezuela.
