Because of his bad knee last year, they kept him on 1B all year. With Aubrey and possibly Mulhern in Buffalo, Brown (and Mulhern) will get some time in the outfield. Although, Francisco is a good player and could hold his own if Gutz was to get hurt or not perform in 2008. I still think Goleski could be a good player, and is a prototype RFer with the cannon arm and power bat. No elite guys out there though in the upper levels....yet. Because of the depth of decent players in the upper levels, I would have passed on Quentin I believe, although he is intriguing!

Great job, Tony. You've earned your Vegas spurs, though this obviously is a labor of love for you.

Your in-depth analysis makes me think that the Indians have a dearth of legitimate RF prospects. With Barton gone, and with Snyder sputtering out and Cumberbatch maybe three years away, what would happen if Gutz or Gutz-Choo (gesundheit!) were to struggle at the major league level? Big problem. For that matter, we're not real strong in LF either, especially if Brown and Head end up at 1B.

Should we have gone harder after Carlos Quentin or someone like him, I wonder? Just one man's take on all the data you've collected.
